# Kromdraw vs FigJam

FigJam is the whiteboard attached to Figma. That attachment is most of the difference.

## What FigJam is better at

If your design team already lives in Figma, FigJam is nearly free at the margin and it sits beside the files everybody is in all day. Going from a jam to the design it turned into is one click, and no separate tool can match that. It has widgets, a large template library, and the polish of a company with a few hundred engineers.

### You can't buy the whiteboard on its own

FigJam arrives attached to a design suite. So if the people who need a canvas are a product manager, two engineers and someone from support, you're buying seats in a design tool for people who will never open a design file. As of August 2026, Figma's Professional plan prices seats by type, from $3 a month for a Collab seat to $16 for a Full one, billed annually. On monthly billing those two are $5 and $20.

### Where the files are

Figma's pricing page offers, on Enterprise, to host "key parts" of Figma and FigJam files in the EU. Read that phrase slowly, because it is doing a lot of work. Some of the file, on the largest plan. Kromdraw has one plan and everything is in the EU on it, and the company is Dutch rather than American, which is the part residency doesn't address. ### What Kromdraw has that is different in kind

Sticky notes signed by whoever wrote them. 609 bundled animated stamps. Comment threads pinned to the canvas that a guest can join from a link, with no account. A hover that lights up everything a shape connects to. The [features page](https://kromdraw.com/features) goes through each of them.

## What Kromdraw doesn't have

No design tool next to it, which is the whole reason to use FigJam. No widgets, no template library, no plugin ecosystem, no mobile app, no SSO, no certifications. There is no FigJam importer, so an existing jam has to be rebuilt.

## Can I bring a FigJam file across?

No. There is no FigJam importer, and FigJam exports to Figma's own formats, so an existing jam has to be rebuilt.

### Do I need Figma to use FigJam? +

You need a Figma account and, for most of what makes FigJam worth using with other people, a paid Figma plan. That is the whole difference this page is about: FigJam is bought as part of a design suite, and Kromdraw is the only product there is.

### Can a guest comment on a FigJam file without an account? +

No, and this one is categorical rather than a matter of plan. Figma's open sessions let somebody without an account draw on a FigJam file for 24 hours at a time, but its documentation states that open sessions do not support comments with visitors — commenting always needs a Figma account. On Kromdraw a guest comments from a link under a name they choose.

### What does a FigJam seat cost? +

On Figma's Professional plan as of August 2026, seats are priced by type: $16 a month for a Full seat, $12 for a Dev seat and $3 for a Collab seat, billed annually. On monthly billing those become $20, $15 and $5. Kromdraw is €9 per member a month, or €90 a year, with no seat types.

### Is my FigJam data kept in the EU? +

Only on Enterprise, and only partly. Figma offers to host what its pricing page calls "key parts" of Figma and FigJam files in the EU, at rest. Its exclusions include comments, file names, thumbnails, @mentions, plugins, AI chats, billing data, metadata, activity and security logs, search indexes and user profiles; published files are hosted in the US. Kromdraw has one plan and everything is in the EU on it.
